I am a full professor at Shenzhen Technology University, with research interests in

  1. Large Language Models (LLMs)/GenAI Basics: New architecture exploration, modular efficiency, agentic AI, LLM safety, etc.; and
  2. GenAI + X: Data analytics, affective computing, and education, etc.

Before that, he worked in R&D at IDEA, Ping An Life, etc. He has also served as an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and as an assistant professor in the Department of Computing, where he was the deputy director of the Deep Learning Research and Application Centre at Hang Seng Management College. He earned his Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CUHK, under the supervision of Prof. Irwin King and Prof. Michael R. Lyu.

He received the 2018 Asia Pacific Neural Network Society (APNNS) Young Researcher Award and was recognized with an Honorable Mention for the Most Influential Scholar Award for outstanding and vibrant contributions to the field of AAAI/IJCAI for outstanding and vibrant contributions to the field of AAAI/IJCAI several times. His publications are in Google Scholar or DBLP.

His team is recruiting Research Assistants, Ph.D. candidates, and Postdoctoral researchers. If you are interested in joining, please email him an email: haiqin[dot]yang[at]gmail[dot]com or yanghaiqin[at]sztu[dot]edu[dot]cn.
